Three Types of Dreams

Here is a Hasan (Good) hadīth from Imām al-Sādiq (عليه السلام) where it tells us the three types of dreams. Earlier I made a post on what to do if you were to see a bad dream (click here).

From Sa`d bn Abī Khalaf from Abī `Abd Allāh (عليه السلام) said: “Dreams are of three types: (1) Good news from Allāh to the mu’minīn. (2) Warnings from al-ShayTān. (3) Confused/Muddled dreams”

  1. I saw weird kind of dreams well they are about many things that happens to me in day or what i saw with others television, listened some thing some where. all happening to me and in the morning i feel so clumsy and stupid like every thing repeating. how to get rid of this problem. any suggestion.

  2. as salaamu alaykum

I have read a sunni hadith that said to only talk about good dreams, are there any similar narrations in our books? I have been noticing alot of people talking and trying to find the meanings of certain dreams, and often they place great importance in it which can be dangerous.

  3. Wa `Alaykum Assalaam,

Yes, brother these aHaadeeth are in our books. We also have hadeeth that says only tell your dreams to mu'mineen who do not hold jealousy, etc. But these aHaadeeth are not SaHeeH (Authentic) per the standards of hadeeth. But scholars still use these hadeeth as hujjah (proof)
