Here is an article by brother Abu Abdullaah (from Shiachat) concerning Al-Hijaamah:

“Muhammad bin YaHyaa from Ahmad bin Muhammad from ‘Alee bin Al-Hakam from Al-Husayn bin Abee Al-‘Alaa: He said: 'I asked Abaa ‘Abd Allaah (عليه السلام) about the Hijaamah (cupping/blood-letting) for a fasting person.' He (عليه السلام) said: 'Yes, if he is not afraid of weakness.'”

"Sadaqallaahul `Aleeyul `Adheem" after Qur'aanic Recitation is Bid`ah

I was always wondering why the discrepancy on how to end your Qur’aanic recitation between Sunnees and Shee`ah when we say, "al-`aleeyul 'adheem" and they "adheem". Then I realized that in the Sunnee books there is NO mention to say “sadaqallaahul `adheem” (صدق الله العظيم) that got me wondering if it is even really in our books.

So I searched throughout our book to find any hadeeth that says end your recitation with “sadaqallaahul `aleeyul `adheem” (صدق الله العلي العظيم)

I only came across 1 hadeeth that alludes to the fact that we end our Qur'aanic recitation with

I am going to give an excerpt of this hadeeth, due to the fact that it is REALLY lengthy. Over 11 pages long!
“How do I begin the Qur’aan (recitation) and how do I finish it? He said: O ibn Salaam, he begins it with “bismillaahir raHmaanir raHeem” and he finishes it with “sadaqallaahul `aleeyul `adheem”
Source:
1.     Al-Majlisi, BiHaar Al-Anwaar, vol. 57, ch. 37, 241 - 252

Here is the chain that was given.

There are many issues with this chain. The primary narrator (`Abd Allaah bin Salaam) is majhool according to Al-Khoei (see: Al-Khoei, Mu`jam Rijaal Al-Hadeeth, vol. 10, pg. 197, person # 6889).

This narration seems to be very shaadh (odd), there is no isnaad (chain of narrators), thus being mursal (disconnected), and being da`eef (weak). There are numerous aHaadeeth in our books that talk about when you begin you start with “bismillaah”, but this seems to be the only one that talks about what to say when you end your recitation, there should be a lot more narrations like this.

In conclusion, this practice of ending your recitation with “Sadaqallaahul `aleeyul `adheem” is bid`ah (innovation), and this must be stopped immediately.

Having a Straight back in Rukoo` (For Men)

The true and proper way to do Rukoo' for men is to keep your back straight and push your knees back, so in essence from someone looking from the side view you body is 90 degrees.

First we go to hadeeth. This is an excerpt from the long hadeeth on Salaah by Hammaad ibn 'Eesaa.

Scenario of Hadeeth:
Hammaad prayed in front of our 6th Imaam (AS), the Imaam said he prayed VERY bad. And then the Imaam (AS) prays himself and Hammaad is narrated exactly what he saw.

Translation: "...Then (he performed) rukoo` and placed his palms on his separated knees, and moved his knees back (that is, straightened them completely), until his back straighted to the extent that if one were to pour a drop of water or oil on it, it would not fall off of his back due to its straightness..."

Sitting in Tawarruk for Salaah (For Men)

One of the biggest lost sunnahs that we, shee`ahs, have totally neglected is done in the Salaah. It is the sitting called “Tawarruk”. This specific sitting has been stated in numerous aHaadeeth through various isnaad that our Ahl Al-Bayt (AS) sat like this when they were in salaah.
Here are some hadeeth that talk about the description of this “tawarruk” position.
"And sits on his left thigh, and put (the top of) his right foot on the belly of his left (foot)"

--> Milaadh Al-Akhyaar, vol. 3, pg. 539

Here is the SaHeeH hadeeth according to Al-Majlisi from Hamaad ibn 'Eesa talking about Salaah.

"He sat on his left side (thigh) and he placed the outside (visible) of his right foot over the belly of his left foot"

Grading:
1.     Al-Majlisi has said this hadeeth's sanad is SaHeeH
--> Milaadh Al-Akhyaar, vol. 3, pg. 539

Here is a hadeeth that is a little bit more descriptive.
“He (AS) said: And when you sit in tashahhud make your knees stick to the ground and ease some space in between, and let the outside (visible) of your left foot on the ground and the outside (visible) of your right foot on the stomach of your left foot and your buttocks be on the ground, and your right (foot’s) big toe on the ground”

Now, here are some classical scholarly opinions on doing tawarruk, and when to do it.
1.       Between your Sajdahs
2.      During your Tashahhud
“When you finish (saying tasbeeH in sajdah) raise your head from sajdah, and sit up still, and say “Allaahu Akbar”, and let you sit upon your left thigh. And place the outside (visible part) of your right foot on the stomach of your left foot”

(In the Sunnah acts of Tashahhud) “To sit in tawarruk, the characteristics are: to sit on the left hip, and taking out his two legs together, and making the outside (visible part) of your left foot to the ground and the outside (visible part) of your right foot to the stomach of the left (foot).”
Source:
1.     Al-Muhaqqiq Al-Hillee, Sharaa-i' Al-Islaam, vol. 1, pg. 78

Here is what Al-Seestaanee says about Tawarruk, taken from his Risaalah:

“1112. It is Mustahab to sit on the left thigh during tashahhud, and to place the upper part of the right foot on the sole of the left foot “
Source:
1.     Al-Seestaani, Risaalah, Kitaab Al-Salaah, Ch. On Tashahhud, Ruling # 1112

Here is a question that was posed to him on his website in regards to Tawarruk in Salaah:

Question: “Can I do tawarruk on the thigh of my leg between the two sajdahs?”

Answer: “Tawarruk is mustaHab, it is to sit in humility on his left thigh making the outside (visible part) of your right foot on the stomach of your left and other than this situation it is undesirable and it is permitted (jaa’iz)”
Here is a picture of how you do tawarruk, this will help you put the words into an action form.

SaHeeH Supplications: Du`aa Al-IftitaaH

Here is a great du`aa to recite every night during the month of RamaDaan. I have pasted this whole du`aa here, because there have been things added to this du`aa in your mafaateeH al-jinaan, and duas.org, that is not found in the original SaHeeH source of Tahdheeb Al-aHkaam. It is best to read it from here, or copy and paste this into Word, and print it out.

This du`aa has an impeccable chain, here is the chain:

Muhammad bin Ya`qoob (Al-Kulayni) from `Alee bin Ibraaheem (Al-Qummee) from his father (Ibraaheem bin Haashim Al-Qummee) from Ibn MaHboob (Hasan bin MaHboob) from `Alee bin Ri’aab from `Abd SaaliH (7th Imaam) (عليهم السلام)

^^ Only reason why this is Hasan because 'Alee ibn Ibraaheem's father (Ibraaheem bin Haashim), he is ONLY "praised", so that drops the hadeeth down a grading to hasan. But since the person who is ONLY praised is Ibraaheem bin Haashim Al-Qummee, this is regarded as SaHeeH hadeeth anyways. ^^

Du`aa Between Your Sajdahs

Here is another du`aa to read between your sajdahs. This is another way you can beautiful your salaah. When you raise your head after the first sajdah, then you recite this du`aa (in red).

“So raise your head and say between the two sajdahs ‘Allahum-maghfirlee warHamnee wa ajirnee wadfa`-`annee innee limaa anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeer, tabarakallaahu rabbul `aalameen’ (O Lord, forgive me, grant me mercy, grant me protection and defend me against my enemies. I am in great need of the good that your have sent to me. Blessed be Allaah, Lord of the Worlds)

1.     Al-Majlisi said this hadeeth is Hasan
--> Mir'aat Al-'Uqool, vol. 10, 127

Du`aa after Rukoo` in Salaah

We all know, alHamdulillaah, what to say after we finish our rukoo`, when we stand, which is “Sami`allaahu liman Hamidah” (سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ). Now there is another phrase that is mentioned in aHaadeeth to say, which is mustaHab. Here is an extra mustaHab / sunnah thing to add to your salaah that will increase in the beautification of your salaah.
This is said after you say “Sami`allaahu liman Hamidah” (سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ), and then you say this (in red):

Standing (and say): ‘AlHamdulillaahi rabbil `aalimeen, ahlal jabarooti wal kibriyaa’i wal `adhamah, alHamdulillaahi rabbil `aalimeen’ (All praise belongs to Allaah, Lord of the worlds, the Owner of Mightiness and Majesty and Greatness, All praise belongs to Allaah)(with) your voice aloud, then raise your hands in takbeer and fall down (go into) sajdah.”

The Sunnah of Wearing an `Aqeeq (Agate) Ring
