Reward for Visiting Imam al-Kadhim

Here is a aī (Authentic) adīth that says that visiting the grave of Imām Mūsa al-Kādhim, in al-Kādhimayn or al-Kādhimiyyah, is like visiting the grave of Imām al-Husayn (عليه السلام). This means visiting the grave of Imām Mūsa al-Kādhim has the same reward as visiting the grave of Imām al-Husayn (عليه السلام).

From al-Ḥasan bin `Alī al-Washshā’ from al-Riḍa (عليه السلام) said, ‘I asked him (عليه السلام) about ziyārah (visitation) of grave Abī al-Ḥasan (Mūsa al-Kādhim), is it like (visiting) the grave al-Ḥusayn (عليه السلام)?’ He (عليه السلام) said: ‘Yes’

  1. Is there a particular reason that they mention Imam Khadim, and not the other Imams?

  2. Assalaamu `Alaykum,

No particular reason, other than al-Washshaa' is asking Imaam al-Ridaa about his father. If you see my blog post I posted after this, visiting any of the Imaams is equal to visiting Imaam al-Hussayn.

  3. Thank you brother, I see it now. But since they mention Imam Husayn, then it may indicate that many believed that visiting Imam Husayn first were kind of encouraged to do first, and then comes the rest.? There are still many who will visit Imam Husayn first, so then imam ali, imam reza (as).

  4. Not exactly brother. We have many hadeeth that are SaHeeH that says visiting Imaam al-Husayn's (AS) grave is equal to 100 hajj and 100 umrah, and other hadeeth say 1000 hajj and 1000 umrah. So this is what it is referring it.

    Wallaahu A`lim.
