Authority Only Comes from the Ahlul Bayt

Here is a asan (Good) adīth that says there is no authority and knowledge except that it comes from the Ahl al-Bayt (عليهم السلام). Also, within this adīth is the famous mutawātir adīth of Imām `Alī (عليه السلام) where he tells the people “Salūnī (Ask me) whatever you wish”.

From Zurārah said, I was with Abī Ja`far (عليه السلام) and a man from the people of al-Kūfa asked him about the saying of Amīr al-Mu’minīn (عليه السلام), ‘Salūnī (Ask me) whatever you wish, and you will not ask me about a thing except that I inform you of it’. He (عليه السلام) said: ‘No one has with him knowledge of a thing except that is comes from Amīr al-Mu’minīn (عليه السلام). So people can go wherever they desire, by Allāh, there is no authority (right) except from here, and he pointed with his hand to his house (i.e. Ahl al-Bayt (عليهم السلام))’

  2. So, does it mean that all prophetic knowledge could be achieved only from the way of Ahlalbayt?
And how then should we deal with sound report that Imam Ali asked Miqdad to ask ruling of sexual discharge (mazi) from prophet (sallalahu alaihi wa ala alihi sallam)?

    1. In my own understanding someone please correct me if I'm wrong, is that as the famous Hadith says: the prophet saww said that I am the city of knowledge and Ali as is the gate. So we understand that the prophet saww is the most knowledgable so he will give the best answer. This is why whenever it was possible the imams would quote the prophet saww on certain issues because no answer is better than the prophets answer

And of course Allah swt knows best

    2. Salamalaikum. There are instances where imam ali a.s sent some people to rasool Allah saw and that they did their duty by entering the city of knowledge through the gate. Siraatoaliyinhaqqun (shiachat)
